GLENN KESSLER "FACT CHECKER" OF THE WASHINGTON POST [THE BIGGEST PINOCCHIOS OF 2018] IS CAUGHT LYING ON 9 OUT OF 18 OF HIS 2018 "FOUR PINOCCHIO” EVALUATIONS
There is a famous scene in Stalag 17, a famous play that takes place in a WWII German prisoner of war camp. Several of the American prisoners who had attempted to escape their German captors were mowed down by the German guards who apparently had been informed in advance as to their escape plans.
It turns out that the “American” prisoner who had been entrusted by the other prisoners to provide security, was in fact a German who had spent time as a youth in the United States and had been planted in the camp as a spy .
Unfortunately, Glenn Kessler of the Washington Post has hijacked the title of “fact checker” and utilizes the following standard:
. If a Republican makes a statement and it is 99% correct in every detail, the rating given is "partially false". This provides a cloud of doubt covering the entire statement.
. If a Democrat makes a statement and it is
99 % incorrect every detail, the rating is "partially true”. This provides the feeling which supports that this statement be given some degree of confidence.
Kessler relies as truth on some of the specific arguments made by the Obama administration to justify the fund transfer to Iran to evaluate as "untruthful" Donald Trumps calling out the Obama administration on this issue.
“The Democrats and President Obama gave Iran 150 Billion Dollars and got nothing, but they can’t give 5 Billion Dollars for National Security and a Wall?”
Kessler does not deny the transfer took place. He does not deny the monies went to fund the Iranian Revolutionary guard Corps operations in Syria Lebanon, Gaza Central and South America Africa etc.
“Fact: the money was transmitted to Iran in multiple pallets containing multiple sacks of low denomination untraceable currencies. The money was used for Iranian Revolutionary guard operations throughout the world, especially in South and Central America and in Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, etc.”
